Mr Marcus Stehr
Executive Director Operations
Marcus Stehr is the Executive Director Operations of Clean Seas. He is a qualified fishing captain with 25 years tuna experience and has been actively involved in the commencement of aquaculture tuna propagation within the Stehr Group. Marcus was responsible for the world’s first successful air lift transfer of large SBT from offshore cages to an onshore enclosure. The subsequent successful fish husbandry of these SBT over 5 years has resulted in Clean Seas having over 150 SBT broodstock.
Prior to this he helped pioneer the Stehr Group’s SBT farming operation. This included growout and harvesting programs in the southern Spencer Gulf, and the successful trialing of pellet feed for SBT. In addition, Marcus has been involved in the propagation of Kingfish and Mulloway to the growout stage and subsequent sales to Europe, South East Asia and United States of America.
He was a member of the Co-operative Research Centre’s Southern Blue Tuna Steering Committee from 2003 to 2005. Marcus also holds a Master Class 4 Skippers Certificate.
